Since the New York Junior Bobcats started at the junior level in 2000 the franchise has been one of the most successful junior programs in both the Metropolitan and Atlantic Junior Leagues.
Throughout the team’s 12-year history, the Bobcats have served as a springboard for players to move onto the Tier 1 junior level, collegiate, and professional ranks. To the team’s credit, more than 25 of its alumni have moved onto the NCAA Division I level. Many have taken their careers to the NCAA Division 3 level. Some have used the Bobcats as a stepping stone to the USHL or NAHL before making an impact during their college careers. In this past season alone the Bobcats have seen 3 former players sign professional contracts after successful college careers.
The Bobcats main focus is to improve their player’s skill and prepare them for the next level. The Bobcats have been one of the best Atlantic hockey organizations in moving players on to the NCAA level.
The Bobcats have achieved many team goals in such time. As members of the MET league for 3 years, the Bobcats qualified for the playoffs in all 3 yrs, losing in the Semi-Finals and in only their 2nd year they were able to win the Keegan Cup and secure a trip to Jr. B nationals. As a member of the Atlantic League for 8 seasons the Bobcats have finished the regular season with the league’s best record3 times and second best record another 3 times. The Bobcats have also played in the playoff finals 5 times while winning the league championship twice.
The Bobcats are a historic organization, committed to player and team success now and for many years down the line.
